Last week I was at a workshop conducted by Dr Michael Yapko author of many books on depression.
“Why Bother” he said, would be depression’s slogan.
So when you think “Why bother”…think about it.
Am I just feeling the hopelessness, the lack of energy, the lack of effect, of whatever it is I can’t be bothered doing? Is this a response to my feelings? Is there another side?
What is my logical mind saying?
If my mind has reasons for doing the thing…good sensible me affirming reasons to do it…well push past the “Why bother”.
Avoid taking up the slogan….Your choice.
Warm wishes.
